You can remain closely involved, share responsibilities with us, or have Prestige Sourcing manage the agreed process on your behalf.
There is no requirement to hand over full control.
Choose the Level of Support You Need
- Consulting and defined one-off support start from $200 USD per hour.
- Straightforward Alibaba orders may be suitable for our limited-scope Quote Matching service, available from $5,000 USD in product purchase value.
- Full-service sourcing requires at least $10,000 USD, or approximately $15,000 NZD, in product purchases per month.
Smaller or occasional projects can still be supported through consulting, Alibaba Quote Matching, selected China-side services or a separately scoped fixed-fee project.
Freight is quoted separately and is not charged at the $200 USD consulting hourly rate.

Local Support in China
You remain in control of your suppliers, purchasing decisions and commercial relationships. Prestige Sourcing provides selected support in China where needed.

How this may be billed:

End-to-End Sourcing
You provide the product brief or purchasing requirement, and Prestige Sourcing manages the agreed sourcing process on your behalf.
This may include:

- Quotation and sample coordination

- Production and quality follow-up
- Freight and shipment planning
How this may be billed:
Commonly structured as an agreed percentage of the product purchase value, a project fee or an ongoing retainer.
Shared Responsibility
You stay involved in the areas you want to control, while Prestige Sourcing manages selected parts of the process.

How Fees Can Be Structured
The most suitable billing structure depends on the amount of work involved, the number of suppliers and separate orders, the specialist knowledge required, and the level of responsibility and commercial risk Prestige Sourcing is expected to manage.
Our fees may be structured as an agreed percentage of the product purchase value, a fixed project fee, hourly support or an ongoing monthly retainer.
We confirm the scope, billing method and what is included before work begins.
Percentage of Purchase Value
Our fee is calculated as an agreed percentage of the value of the goods being purchased.
This can suit sourcing and purchasing projects where the workload broadly reflects the value of the order.
A minimum service fee or separate project fee may apply where the project involves substantial work, multiple suppliers, several smaller orders, specialist knowledge or additional responsibility.
Fixed Project Fee
A set fee for clearly defined work where the scope and expected deliverables can be agreed in advance.
This can suit supplier research, product development, negotiations, inspections, troubleshooting or other work with a clear outcome.
We confirm the fee after reviewing the time, complexity, specialist knowledge, responsibility and commercial risk involved.
Hourly Support
Suitable for consulting, troubleshooting, advice and clearly defined one-off tasks.
Consulting and one-off support start from $200 USD per hour.
This can be practical where you need specialist input without a wider sourcing arrangement.
Freight, shipment costs, duties, taxes and other third-party charges are separate.
Monthly Retainer
Suitable for businesses that want ongoing support, supplier communication, quotation reviews, sourcing assistance and continuity between orders.
The retainer is based on the expected workload, response requirements and level of specialist support required.
You do not need to place an order every month.
Alibaba Quote Matching
A limited-scope option for straightforward products where you already have Alibaba links, clear specifications and quoted pricing.
This provides a more basic level of support than our full sourcing service.
It does not automatically include extensive supplier searching, factory audits, product development, detailed inspections, compliance work, custom packaging, warehousing or consolidation.
Additional services can be quoted separately where required.
Minimum product purchase value:
From $5,000 USD, subject to the product, required support and current capacity.

When Full-Service Sourcing Applies
Full-service sourcing requires at least $10,000 USD, or approximately $15,000 NZD, in product purchases per month.
This refers only to the value of the goods being purchased.
It does not include Prestige Sourcing's service fee, freight, duties, taxes or other third-party costs.
This monthly threshold applies where Prestige Sourcing is expected to provide ongoing, hands-on sourcing management.
Businesses below this level can still use consulting, Alibaba Quote Matching, defined one-off support or a separately scoped fixed-fee project.
Where a smaller project requires substantial work, a minimum service fee may apply.
Freight and Logistics
Freight through Prestige Sourcing is not required.
You can use your own freight forwarder or logistics provider.
Alternatively, we can arrange freight, customs coordination and delivery as part of the agreed scope to make the process easier.
Freight is quoted separately based on the shipment details, route, volume, weight and destination.
It is not billed at the $200 USD consulting hourly rate.
Duties, taxes, government charges, inspections and other third-party costs are separate unless expressly included in the quotation.

Some lower-value projects still require substantial supplier communication, coordination, follow-up or problem-solving.
A minimum service fee helps ensure the fee reflects the actual work involved rather than only the value of the goods.
Do I need to hand over control of my suppliers?
No. You can remain in direct contact with your suppliers and use Prestige Sourcing only for selected support in China. We can also share responsibilities or manage the agreed process on your behalf.
Can I use Prestige Sourcing for only one part of the process?
Yes. We can assist with specific tasks such as supplier checks, factory visits, inspections, production follow-up, troubleshooting, consolidation or freight coordination.
Do I need to place an order every month to use a retainer?
No. A retainer can provide ongoing support and continuity while you evaluate suppliers, develop products, review quotations or plan future orders.
Do I have to use Prestige Sourcing for freight?
No. You can use your own freight forwarder or logistics provider. We can also arrange freight, customs coordination and delivery as part of the agreed scope.
Is freight included in the sourcing or consulting fee?

Why are exact sourcing percentage rates not listed online?
The work involved can vary significantly depending on the product, suppliers, number of orders, complexity and level of support required.

Why Pricing Depends on More Than Order Value
Order value is only one part of the calculation.
For example, one $10,000 USD order from one supplier may require less work than ten separate $1,000 USD orders from different suppliers.
Each supplier and order can involve separate quotations, communication, payments, production follow-up, quality checks, documentation and shipping arrangements.

The monthly purchasing threshold determines access to full-service sourcing, but the final fee must still reflect the actual work involved.
