Is sea parcel right for you?
Sea Parcel generally suits smaller cartons below 1 cubic metre (CBM). A cubic metre is the space in a box measuring 1 metre long, 1 metre wide and 1 metre high. Each carton still needs to meet the service’s size, weight and packing rules.
Send the contents, measurements, weight and delivery postcode so we can check the service. We can compare the total price with LCL sea freight. You can also view all China to New Zealand freight options.
Smaller sea shipments
Shipping costs
Not sure whether Sea Parcel or LCL is better value? Send us your shipment details and we will compare the available options based on total cost, transit time and delivery requirements.
Shipping time
Allow around 20–45 days as a broad guide. Ship schedules, customs checks and final delivery can change the dates.
Delivery options
Sea parcel or LCL? A few small cartons may suit sea parcel, while palletised or moderate commercial loads may fit LCL. We can compare both services for your cartons, including minimum charges, handling and final delivery.
If the parcel is urgent, we can assess express courier. We check the contents, packing, size and destination before recommending a service.
How sea parcel works
Review your shipment
Supplier pickup or warehouse delivery
Pickup depends on your supplier’s location. For most shipments under 100kg, you or your supplier will need to arrange delivery to the nominated warehouse in China. We will confirm the arrangements with you before your supplier sends the goods.
Group cartons for sea shipping
Plan NZ delivery
For most Sea Parcel shipments, your supplier sends the cartons to the nominated China warehouse after we confirm the booking and warehouse details.
After the warehouse receives the goods, the team prepares them for sea-parcel forwarding to New Zealand. The destination service may then provide door delivery or depot collection.
Depending on the service, the freight agent or NZ Post may complete local delivery.

China to New Zealand
Allow roughly 20–45 days as a broad guide. The time needed to group cartons for shipping, sailing schedules, customs checks and local delivery can affect the dates.
The selected service may offer delivery to your address or collection from a depot. Send your postcode so we can check urban, regional or rural delivery options.
Before delivery in NZ
Carton suitability
Send each carton’s packed measurements and weight. Sea Parcel generally suits shipments below 1 cubic metre. We will check the carton limits and whether the service can carry your goods.
Packing and price explained
We explain carton protection, labelling and the handling included in your quote. You can still ship less than 1 CBM, but some Sea Parcel services bill a 1 CBM minimum. We compare that minimum charge with LCL so you can see which option gives better value.
Choose NZ delivery
Send us your postcode. We will explain depot collection and delivery options, including regional or rural coverage. The freight agent or NZ Post may complete the last stage.
Collecting or receiving your Sea Parcel
The available service may offer depot collection or delivery to your New Zealand address. Send your postcode so we can check the local service, any rural or regional charges and which customs-related costs are included.
Compare LCL sea freight for larger goods or express courier if you need the cartons sooner.

Can you arrange final delivery?
We can arrange final delivery where a suitable service is available. Send us the collection and delivery addresses; we will check the service and explain the customs arrangements and quote inclusions before booking.
What information should I send for a quote?
First, send your name, email, NZ destination and goods type. Also include weight, packed dimensions, collection city and purchase terms if known. A packing list helps us assess your shipment.
Can I ship less than 50kg?
Send your goods details so we can check a suitable service. A 15 USD administration fee applies to shipments under 50kg if you are not sourcing through Prestige Sourcing. The fee applies to all shipping methods.
Are all shipments below 1 cubic metre suitable for Sea Parcel?
Size is only one part of suitability. Send your carton dimensions, weight, contents and postcode; we will check the packing and service limits before recommending Sea Parcel.
How does sea parcel differ from LCL?
Sea Parcel suits smaller cartons that meet its service rules. LCL lets you share a container, with charges for grouping goods in China and unpacking them in New Zealand. Send us your carton details and we will compare the total quotes, including any minimum charge.
Can you arrange local delivery?
Send your delivery postcode and we will check address delivery or depot collection, explain the local service and confirm what your quote includes. Rural or offshore destinations need an individual service check.
Where can I check the NZ import requirements?
We coordinate customs clearance with the broker handling your shipment and tell you what information is needed. You are responsible for supplying accurate and complete factual information about the goods, including the description, quantity, value, contents/materials and supporting documents. We flag obvious issues where we can, but cannot verify undisclosed or incorrect information. Customs or other authorities may request evidence or inspect the shipment.
Our New Zealand customs and delivery guidance provides supporting information about import and delivery requirements.
