LCL Sea Freight
LCL freight
to Australia
LCL means Less than Container Load. Your cartons or pallets share a sea container with other customers’ goods, making it an option when your order does not need a whole container.
The goods are grouped together in China and unpacked at a depot in Australia. Send the packed size and weight, supplier location and delivery postcode so we can check the total cost and collection or delivery options.

Is LCL shipping right for you?
LCL suits cartons or pallets that can share a container. Pack them to withstand warehouse handling, sea transport and unpacking after arrival.
For a few small cartons, compare Sea Parcel. For a larger order, compare full container shipping. Our China to Australia freight overview compares all methods.

Delivery options
We explain the cost to your chosen collection or delivery point, including how unpacking, customs clearance and local delivery are treated. This helps you budget beyond the sea-freight price.
In Australia, shared containers are unpacked at a site approved for the relevant biosecurity work. You receive your cleared cartons or pallets, rather than the whole container. See the Australian customs and delivery guide. For smaller cartons, compare Sea Parcel.

Collect or deliver
We help arrange shipping from Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Yiwu, Shanghai and Ningbo. Goods may arrive through Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Fremantle or Adelaide, depending on the booking and delivery address.
The warehouse receives the goods before they are grouped with other shipments. In Australia, the container is unpacked and the required customs and biosecurity checks must be completed before collection. If you are buying from several suppliers, send their locations and ready dates so we can check whether the orders can travel together.
Shipping time
and costs
We explain when your goods need to reach the China warehouse, the expected sailing and when they should be ready to collect or receive in Australia. After the ship arrives, the shared container still needs to be unpacked and the goods cleared.
Tell us about home delivery, regional areas, islands or unloading equipment. For depot collection, we explain the collection window and when storage charges start.

Collecting from the depot
Collecting or receiving LCL goods in Australia
After the shared container is unpacked and your goods are cleared, you can collect them from the agreed depot or use quoted delivery to your address. Tell us about residential access, regional or remote postcodes and any Tasmania transfer.
If you choose depot collection, you arrange the remaining journey. Door-to-door freight can help coordinate that delivery; a larger order may justify its own container.

Shipping under 50kg? A 15 USD administration fee applies if you are not sourcing through Prestige Sourcing. This applies to all shipping methods.
For most shipments under 100kg, you or your supplier will need to arrange delivery to the nominated warehouse in China. You can enquire before you know the supplier’s location. We will help confirm the pickup or warehouse-delivery arrangements before your goods are sent.

Australia LCL FAQs
Is there a minimum charge for LCL?
Send the packed size and weight so we can check the minimum charge and any warehouse-handling costs for your shipment.
Do I need my own container-unpacking facility?
No, you do not receive the whole container. It is unpacked at a suitable depot in Australia. Once the import checks are complete, you collect your cartons or pallets or use the delivery service in your quote.
What costs should I allow for after arrival?
LCL involves grouping goods in China and unpacking the shared container in Australia. We explain customs work, depot handling and delivery in your quote, including any separate charges, so you can budget for the whole journey.
Can orders from several suppliers travel together?
Send each supplier’s location, packing details and the date their goods will be ready. We can check whether the orders can travel together and how they will reach the warehouse.
What does the delivery estimate include?
We explain where your estimate starts in China and whether it ends at a port, depot or your Australian address. Timing allows for the agreed journey, including customs and biosecurity checks, and remains an estimate.
What do you need for a quote?
Start with your name, email, Australian destination and what you are shipping. If known, add the packed size and weight, supplier’s location, date the goods will be ready and any delivery or unloading needs.
Does the under-50kg administration fee apply?
A 15 USD administration fee applies under 50kg if you are not sourcing through Prestige Sourcing, across all methods. Send your goods details so we can check the available service.
Where can I check the import requirements?
We coordinate customs clearance with the broker handling your shipment and tell you what information is needed. You are responsible for supplying accurate and complete factual information about the goods, including the description, quantity, value, contents/materials and supporting documents. We flag obvious issues where we can, but cannot verify undisclosed or incorrect information. Customs or other authorities may request evidence or inspect the shipment.
Our Australian customs and delivery guide provides supporting information about import and delivery requirements.
