Is air freight right for you?
Air freight can suit goods that are urgent, valuable or too large for a convenient courier booking. We help plan airport handling, customs clearance and transport after arrival alongside the flight.
For small urgent parcels, compare express courier. If you can wait longer, compare LCL sea freight. Our China to Australia freight overview helps you compare the options. We check the goods separately for each service before booking.

Airlines compare the actual packed weight with a weight calculated from the package size, called volumetric weight. Large, light cartons may be charged at the higher calculated weight. Send final measurements and we will explain which weight your quote uses.
Tell us about batteries, liquids, chemicals or other restricted goods before booking so we can check the airline’s rules. For smaller parcels, compare express courier.

Clear customs and deliver
We help arrange shipping from Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Yiwu, Shanghai and Ningbo. Flights may arrive in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide, depending on your goods and the available route.
The handling team reviews cargo details and documents for airline acceptance before the goods travel. We coordinate customs clearance with the broker handling your shipment and the local freight team before collection or delivery. Tell us your final destination so we can include any onward transport you need in the quote.

and costs
Tell us when you need the goods in Australia. We will check the available flights and estimate the journey from the agreed starting point in China to your collection or delivery point. Security checks, flight connections, customs and biosecurity checks can affect the timing.
We explain handling before and after the flight, customs help and local delivery in your quote, including who pays inspection or storage charges if the goods are held.

Receiving air freight in Australia
Your air-freight quote may end at airport cargo collection, at a depot or at your address. Tell us where you need the goods delivered so the quote includes the right local transport.
Regional or remote delivery may need another carrier and extra time. Compare door-to-door freight for delivery coordination or express courier for smaller parcels.

Shipping under 50kg? A 15 USD administration fee applies if you are not sourcing through Prestige Sourcing. This applies to all shipping methods.
For most shipments under 100kg, you or your supplier will need to arrange delivery to the nominated warehouse in China. You can enquire before you know the supplier’s location. We will help confirm the pickup or warehouse-delivery arrangements before your goods are sent.

Australia Air Freight FAQs
What is chargeable weight?
Chargeable weight is the weight used to calculate the shipping price. Airlines compare actual weight with volumetric weight, calculated from package size. Send the packed measurements and weight and we will explain which applies, including rounding and any minimum charge.
Does air freight include home delivery?
Only if delivery to your address is included in the quote. Tell us your home or business address and we will check delivery options. Airport or depot quotes end at that collection point.
Can air freight take goods refused by courier?
Possibly. We need to check the airline’s rules separately. Send the product and packing details, and wait for confirmation before sending the goods.
Does a fast flight avoid biosecurity delays?
No. Australian customs and relevant biosecurity requirements apply to the goods and packaging. Prepare accurate product information and documents before departure.
What does the delivery estimate include?
We explain where your estimate starts in China and whether it ends at a port, depot or your Australian address. Timing allows for the agreed journey, including customs and biosecurity checks, and remains an estimate.
What do you need for a quote?
Start with your name, email, Australian destination and what you are shipping. If known, add the packed size and weight, supplier’s location, date the goods will be ready and any delivery or unloading needs.
Does the under-50kg administration fee apply?
A 15 USD administration fee applies under 50kg if you are not sourcing through Prestige Sourcing, across all methods. Send your goods details so we can check the available service.
Where can I check the import requirements?
We coordinate customs clearance with the broker handling your shipment and tell you what information is needed. You are responsible for supplying accurate and complete factual information about the goods, including the description, quantity, value, contents/materials and supporting documents. We flag obvious issues where we can, but cannot verify undisclosed or incorrect information. Customs or other authorities may request evidence or inspect the shipment.
Our Australian customs and delivery guide provides supporting information about import and delivery requirements.
